After fleeing from King Noah, Alma wrote down the words Abinadi had taught. He began to teach the Nephites those words and some believed and were converted as well. Noah sent soldiers to discover the kidding place of the Believers, but the Lord had warned Alma that the soldiers were coming so they were nowhere to be found.

The story of Alma is a great one of repentance and righteousness. It can also be sued to talk about listening to the promptings of the Holy Ghost.

The people of Alma settle down and build homes and plant crops in the ground. Some Lamanites discover where they are and make them servants to the Lamanites. They are forced to give their crops and animals to Amulon and the Lamanites. The people of Alma were treated very badly and began to pray to be delivered from the hands of the Lamanites. The Lord blesses the Lamanites to sleep and the people of Alma to be able to escape as they slept. The people of Alma travel for many dates until they reach the Land of Zarahemla where King Mosiah welcomes them with joy.
