Daniel and the Lions Den

Daniel and the Lions Den Felt Bible Story

These brave men stand up for what they believe in even when faced with death!

Daniel and the Lions Den Set includes:
-16 felt figures
-Coloring page
-Sequencing page
-Scripture references

This story set can tell the story of Daniel and the Lions Den and the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace. These stories can be found in the Bible from Daniel chapter 6 verse 4 to verse 24.

This is a great story of believing in the Lord and following his words. Daniel was told he could not pray to anyone but King Darius, but he still said his prayers to the Heavenly Father. Because of this he was sentenced to the Lions Den. King Darius was very sorry for the law he had made but couldn't change it. He prayed for Daniel. Daniel prayed too. In the morning, King Darius hurried to the lions den to find Daniel still alive. Angels had come and shut the mouths of the lions and spared Daniel's life.

In the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, King Nebuchadnezzar makes and idol out of fold. He calls everyone to come and worship the idol. He also commands that everyone who does not worship this idol will be cast into the fiery furnace. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego will not worship an idol which makes King Nebuchadnezzar very angry. He orders the furnace to be made hotter and throws Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in it. They fall to their knees and pray. The King looks in the furnace and can see four men instead of three and they are not hurt at all. King Nebuchadnezzar then knows that Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego are sent from God.

In these stories, do you think it was easy to stand up to the kings? Do you think you could make the same choices that Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did? What are some situations you face when you need to stand up for the right? There are several other questions and discussions you can have included in the literature that comes with the Daniel and the Lions Den story set.
