Joseph Smith is curious to know which church is the correct church to join. He explores the different sects and churches and then is inspired to pray about which church to join. He is then blessed with a miraculous visitation of God and Jesus Christ. They instruct him that he should join none of the churches of that time. Then over the coarse of the next few years he is led to find the golden plates and establish the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He is then guided to translate the writings and symbols found on the golden plates into the book called the Book of Mormon (another testament of Jesus Christ).

The Book of Mormon is a record of the peoples who lived in the Americas many years ago.
