As a grandmother of a 21-month old granddaughter, I am always interested in keeping educational toys around to occupy 'Lil Moomette when she comes to visit. I often have to pitch in when the daycare provider is unavailable. Today I am babysitting for 'Lil Moomete as the daycare provider's son is ill.
When my own 2 daughters were young, I was very choosy about the toys and products that I allowed them to play with. I wanted something that stirred their imagination, not just something to keep them occupied.
In looking over felt, I would choose the following products:
1. Farm Animal Farm Mitts
~ these would allow for creative playtime, imagination, allow for story telling, and identification of animals.
2. Funny Fingers Play
~ these also would be similar to the Farm Mitts, allowing creativity and encouraging fine motor skills.
3. Three Little Kittens Felt Board Set
~ My own children always enjoyed classic nursery ryhmes and stories, and I would like to continue the tradition with Moomette, as well as encouraging sequencing.
4. Girl Dress Me Bear
~ Moomette is actually starting to try to dress herself. My own daughters were adament about what they wanted to wear, and the Girl Dress Me Bear would help show what's appropriate for the weather, as well as where articles of clothing belong on their bodies.
5. Who Ate the Food
~ dinner time was always a chore for my own finicky children and Moomette as well. You can say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree - Moomette is a fussy eater! These delightful toys would encourage eating, and identification of foods!
