The story of Joseph in Egypt or Joseph and the Coat of Many Colors can be found in the Holy Bible from Genesis chapter 37 to chapter 45. Choose from the regular sized felt figures or the smaller Toggle sized figures.

Joseph's brothers are jealous of the beautiful coat of many colors that their father has given to Joseph. They take his coat and throw him in a pit. Later on, some men cam by and the brothers sold Joseph to them as a slave. Joseph is taken to Egypt and his father is told he was killed by a wild animal.

Joseph is sold to the captain of the king's guards. He is a man named Potiphar. He serves well and is promoted until one day when Potiphar's wife tried to kiss Joseph. He ran away and she was angry. She told Potiphar that Joseph tried to kiss her and Potiphar had him thrown into jail. While he was there two of the king's servants were also thrown into jail. They each had a dream and through the power of the Lord, Joseph was able to tell each of them what the dreams meant.

One servant was to be killed for some bad things he had done and the other was to go back to serving the king. He asked them to mention him to the king when they were freed. The servant who lived forgot about Joseph until 2 years later the king had a dream. The servant then remembered Joseph and told the king about him. The King sends for Joseph and again the Lord helps him interpret the dream. It meant that they would have 7 years of feast and plenty in the land. They would have all the food they needed. Then after the 7 years were up, they would have 7 years of famine.

The King was so pleased that he made Joseph a chief governor. Joseph was to be in charge of storing up the food. When the famine came, Joseph's brothers came to Egypt in search of food. Joseph was able to help them and learned that their hearts had changed and that they were sorry for what they had done to Joseph. Joseph then told them he was their brother! All is forgiven and Joseph then brought his family to Egypt to live.

The Joseph and the Coat of Many Colors is a really fun story from the Old Testament that I really enjoy hearing and telling. There are so many concepts you can learn from this 1 story!
