-Rubber Egg-
You will need:
-a Hard boiled Egg
-white vinegar
Put the egg in a canning jar or clean mayonnaise jar. Add enough white vinegar to cover the egg. Change the vinegar every couple of days. Continue to soak the egg in the vinegar until the shell has dissolved (this may take a week or more). Remove the egg from the vinegar and let it dry. You now have a rubber egg that will actually bounce. Be careful not to drop the egg from too far up, as it will break apart. Try the same thing with a fresh (uncooked) chicken or turkey leg bone. Wash the bone well before placing it in the jar. After about a week you'll have a flexible bone; you might even be able to tie it in a knot. - Idea taken from: "101 Things Every Kid Should Do Growing Up" by Alecia T. Devantier.
You will need:
- 3/4 cup soft butter
-1 cup brown sugar
-1 egg
-1/4 cup molasses
-2 cups flour
-2 teaspoons baking soda
-1 teaspoon cinnamon
-1 teaspoon ginger
-1/2 teaspoon cloves
-1/4 teaspoon salt
Cream butter, sugar, egg, and molasses until it is a light color. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Chill 2 hours in the fridge. Roll in 1-inch balls and dip in granulated sugar. Put 3 inches apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Makes about 38 cookies.
To play take either several of you favorite Story Time Felts stories (ex. Animal Tales, Cinderella, and Jack and Jill) and mix up all the pieces. Create a new story using either some or all of the pieces. Tell the story to a friend or parent.
*You may also use dolls, toys, or other pictures to play this game.
You will need:
-Mashed potatoes
-Hot Dogs
-Cheese
Have mom or dad help you cut the hotdogs length-wise almost all the way in half. Open the hotdog up so that it is long and a flat on the top. Place a spoonful of mashed potatoes on the top of the hotdog and then place a slice of cheese standing up in the potatoes so that it looks like a sail. Place your "boats" on a cookie sheet and put it in the oven until cheese is melted and hotdogs are warm. Eat and enjoy!
