Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly

This little old lady will eat almost anything! Kids love to see what is going to go into her mouth next.
This Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly Set includes:
-7 animals
-Old Woman background (not mountable)
-Rhyme printed out for you to use
|
Measures about 15 inches by 18 inches which is big enough for the entire group to see!
Your children will love feeding the lady her usual dinner through her mouth into a pocket in the back! On several occasions, I was watching a group of 12-20 toddlers for about 2 hours. Every time I would bring this "Old Lady" they would join us in the room with NO CRYING! Parents started to ask if I had brought her that day! I LOVE this product, and have named it one of my favorites!
There are so many ways to mount this fun lady. You can use an empty picture frame or this PVC pipe stand. I've even known some people to put it on an apron!
The Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly is one of my favorites but just in case you aren't familiar with this fun song or rhyme, here it is.
There was an old woman who swallowed a fly,
I don't know why she swallowed a fly,
Perhaps she'll die.
There was an old woman who swallowed a spider,
It wiggled and jiggled and tickled inside of her,
She swallowed a spider to catch the fly
I don't know why she swallowed a fly,
Perhaps she'll die.
There was an old woman who swallowed a bird,
How absurd, she swallowed a bird!
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,
She swallowed a spider to catch the fly
I don't know why she swallowed a fly,
Perhaps she'll die.
There was an old woman who swallowed a cat,
How about that! She swallowed a cat!
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird,
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,
She swallowed a spider to catch the fly
I don't know why she swallowed a fly,
Perhaps she'll die.
There was an old woman who swallowed a dog,
What a hog! She swallowed a dog!
She swallowed the dog to catch the cat,
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird,
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,
She swallowed a spider to catch the fly
I don't know why she swallowed a fly,
Perhaps she'll die.

There was an old woman who swallowed a cow,
I don't know HOW she swallowed a cow!
She swallowed the cow to get the dog,
She swallowed the dog to catch the cat,
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird,
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,
She swallowed a spider to catch the fly
I don't know why she swallowed a fly,
Perhaps she'll die.
There was an old woman who swallowed a horse,
I'm just kidding of course, she couldn't swallow a horse.
|
Instead of "perhaps she'll die" you can try alternative endings like "I wonder why" or "perhaps she'll cry".
This old woman is so much fun and great for learning. Have children rhyme with something like car. When they rhyme with the car, they can "feed" the old lady. She'll sat colors and numbers too!
You can also teach manners by having her burp after eating something and have her say "Excuse me".
